Ultrasound Appt *UPDATE*

Everything went well...the doc said the baby is nearly 5 pounds! This baby has Christian beat already! They werent able to tell us the length though. The baby is growing nicely and they said that based off the weight and development, they put Alicia ahead a week so shes now 33 weeks. Lastly, the position of the baby is where it should be for this time. The babies head is down and ready to come out!

FYI: They didnt tell Alicia the sex of the baby

*UPDATE* The technician said that there looks like a growth on the babies kidney. They reassured us that its probably nothing, in most cases it utnrs out to be nothing. Alicia has another ultrasound appt in 6 weeks to look at the growth to see if they can determine what it is. If Alicia should go earlier then that, when the baby is out they will do an ultrasound on the baby to see.

Like the pictures?

Christian, as you can see on the right, is starting to wear underwear! We went shopping this weekend for him and he got to pick out his own. He picked out ones with trucks on them and one with trains...He's doing really well so far, no accidents! We still put a pull up on at night time though.

It was a nice weekend, the Dino exhibit was nice. Christian really liked the different kinds of dinosaurs. We didnt go to planetarium, he wasnt having a good day. Alicia and I spent the day cleaning up our room (the only room that was never cleaned since we moved in).

The weather wasnt very nice on sunday. They called for rain and we got that plus high winds, hail the size of gum balls and a tornado warning for Berks County.

Alicia has her ultrasound appt today, hoepfully they can tell us about how big the baby is!

The Dino Exhibit

It wasnt anything like the Philly Museum but it was still nice and we had a great time.

The Nursery...so far

The bones are laid down...all we need is just some pictures on the wall and the baby!

This weekend and Surgery Again?

There still hasnt been a final decision made of my fate...they said by next week though. Christian's not feeling well again. His lymph node is starting to swell up again and he has another ear infection. Alicia took him to the doctors yesterday. His doc said that when he is done with his ear infection they want him to see an Ear Nose and Throat doctor about his tubes. She thinks he may need to have his tubes put back in...surgery number 3 for him! poor Christian...

This weekend is going to be jammed packed with fun things to do! Tomorrow we are taking Christian to the Reading Public Museum for their DINO EXHIBIT!!!! He seems to be getting into dinos and since its free, why not! I plan on painting the front and back doors and the trim too. I plan on visiting the library to do some job hunting. The museum has a planetarium as well and they have a show on Sunday called The Enchanted Reef. Its a 30 minute show about a few fish friends who have to save their reef! Its been a while since I've been to a planetarium so it should be neat. I'm taking Christian with me and Alicia can stay home and relax.

Also, Christian wont be taking the Big Brother class at the hospital. Sad. They said that they have a strict age requirement and 3 years old is the minimum. Its 11am now, 6.5 hours until its the weekend.

Hows that song by Blink 182 go? "Works sucks...I Know"

It sucks when your accused of doing something and you know that you didnt do it. There's no way of proving your innocence's, its their word against yours...and they're never wrong. Its been two days now that I have been stressing over this. Now there are talks of probation and this going on my record.

There's no recourse for "them". They micro manage us but dont care what "they" do. They can leave when ever they want, they can take unlimited days off, they can go shopping in the middle of the day, hell, they dont even have to show up if they dont want to and they can get away with it, thats because they never get reprimanded for it.

Maybe I'm just a little bitter about this but I dont trust "them". The one day I dont put my own stuff away, this happens. Great...

Drum roll please...

I finally got a call from her. She said it took so long because she had to wait nearly an hour to be seen, even though her appt was at 10:30. Alicia said it was short and sweet. I know the biggest thing on most peoples mind is, "Is she dilated more?"

The answer....Dont know, she said they didnt look down there.

She got back her test results from her gestational diabetes test and they said she PASSED, barely...Alicia didnt go into details but she needs to be careful what she eats, not only becasue of her border line results but because they baby may get too big for delivery? Not sure what that means and I'll ask Alicia.

The best news of the appt was they told her there was a good chance she can have a vaginal birth! Alicia said she cried when she heard the news. The docs at the Reading Hospital said they havent recieved her records from St. Joe's in Phoenix and once they recieve them they'll now if a vag birth is possible.

So far, so good! Next monday is her Ultrasound appt!

Still waiting...

Her doc appt was at 10:30 and I havent heard anything yet

Pet Expo, Doors and A New Bike....OH MY!

This weekend was the Pet Expo and boy...what a time. We saw horses, dogs, cats, ferrets, lizards, pigs and tigers. According to the Reading Eagel nearly 30,000 people showed up...more people showed up for the Pet Expo then the Family Expo! Christian was in awe, there were so many dogs and cats there! Everywhere Christian turned he would say "Daddy look, Puppy...woof woof." or "Look, cat...meow meow." You were allowed to bring your pets but we didnt, KC would have been too much. It was a nice time and a great way to kill three hours and $40!

For Christmas Christian got a new Schwinn bike from his Great Grandparents. I set it up last week for him and we tried it on Sunday. His legs just reach the pedals even with the seat all the way up! I pushed him around while his pushed the bell. Christian liked it for a while until he crashed into the fence and then he got off and told his bike to "Stop and Stay" and just walked away. We'll just put it away for another day.

I finally changed the locks on the front and back door...and I decided that this weekend were going to paint the doors and door frame because its so dirty. Alicia has her doctors appt at 10:30 so I'll post the news of that when I know.

PS: It seems like Hailey is very popular...

Morning Drama

Boys will be Boys!

Christian locked himself in the car this morning. Alicia and him drove down this morning so they can say hi to a few people. Christian was sitting on my lap in the driver seat and Alicia in the passenger seat. I got out to go into the branch and Alicia went to switch and thats when Christian shut my door and pushed the lock button.

Cherie and I were banging on the door trying to get Christian to push the damn button while Alicia was on the phone with the police. They gave us two options, the police officer can break the window or wait for a tow truck. He was hitting the Lock/Unlock button but only was pushing the lock part. Christian gave up on trying to push the button at one point. He was sitting on the passenger seat and reached down and got his cup and his book and sat there looking at his book!

It was sad because towards the end of the ordeal, he kept saying he wanted out and kept pushing on the door. Alicia is balling her eyes out the whole time...she didnt see the humor in it, it was a little funny in the begining and Christian was laughing too!

About 25 minutes passed and Christian's hand slipped on the unlock button.

Made it over the hump

Check out the new Youtube video...Its of my little brother and his loose tooth. You can watch it from the blog, just scroll down to the Youtube videos or you can watch it at www.youtube.com/proudfather19

So things have been going smoothly...we've made it longer then christian! He was born already...but things are going really well. Alicia has a doc appt on monday and we'll see how things are going. She's been having braxton hicks contractions though. WE KNOW ITS NOT REAL LABOR. They are very sporadic and are inconsistent with real contractions. Alicia started to really feel them about a week ago and she'll mention them at her appt.

The baby is going through a growth spurt now, well, according to them emails she gets. Yesterday Alicia said she was sitting on the couch and she felt the baby rolling around and when she looked down at her stomach the baby was on one side of her stomach pushing out. She said it looked like a huge lump on her stomach and really hurt. She said the baby did it a few times.

Thank you, Have a Great Day!

Last night was a glimpse into our future. I came home from work around 4:30 and Alicia, KC and Christian were sitting in the backyard. Christian was playing in the neighbors yard with the 3 year old and 8 year old. They were playing baseball, catch, cars...Later, Christian was playing in our yard and the 8 year old boy (Ethan) came over and played with Christian. Then the other neighbor boy who is also 8 (Alex) came over and all three were playing ball in the backyard. All three were sitting on the side walk blowing bubbles...Christian was getting a kick out of it! Usually Christians bed time is around 7 but we let him play so he didnt go to bed till 8 and he was sure as heck tired.

Today Alicia has her glucose testing so Christian went to school for a couple of hours. Alicia called and said he had a rough time when she was trying to leave. He was kicking and headbutting the teacher....the teacher called her back and said he calmed down and was playing cars with some of the other boys.

Nana is coming over tonight and sleeping over. Her and Alicia are going to a Court house to get things figured out with Nana's stalker...Hopefully Christian and her can play together so I can get some cleaning done. We've still got to figure out Christians room and playroom and how were going to setup his new room so we an make way for the baby.

Medical Assitance

Stupid medical assistance. We finally got approved mid January and now they want all our information again. Birth cert., social security cards, drivers license, paystubs, proof of pregnancy, our first born....well maybe not that but its just ridiculous! And they want them all by friday...

Alicia had her first doc appt this morning. Got to hear the babies heart beat for the first time. They didnt really say too much, just no sex from now on. They said her cervix is a little over 1cm dilated, OH NO!!!! lol. They dont have a def. date yet but May 14th will probably be her C section. She has to go for a glucose test on thursday and then she'll find out when her ultra sound appt will be.

This weekend we cleaned, a lot. We organized and cleaned out the basement. We have 2 months to go so we need to get cleaning.

Almost over....

This week seemed to drag on...I cant wait for Sunday morning. I wont have to set my alarm, however, the Christian alarm usually goes off around 6! Christian had is follow up doc appt yesterday. They said that his lump seems to be gettin better. Christian lost 4 pounds...he's down to 24 lbs now. Little scary. The doctor also question the number of times he's been sick. She thinks its a little odd that he's been sick so many times. She believes there is something wrong with his immuneglobin's. His doctor wants to do some blood test to see if this is whats wrong. She said that it could be something that Alicia carries and the new baby can have it as well. I'll let everyone know whats going on with this once we know!

Back to work for another 45 minutes and then again tomorrow!

The Verdict

Christian is being discharged as we speak!

Not again

At Christian's 4am treatment Alicia noticed that on his left side of his neck there was a new bump. It was small and soft but she wanted to ask about it. The bump on his right side is slowly going away, you can still see it...anyway. So around 8 this morning a nurse from CHOP came in and looked at him. She said they were planning on discharging him today but they arent sure now. They want to talk with the ENT and see what he thinks. He should be in later today.

Christian didnt eat his lunch or dinner yesterday and only had a few pieces of fruit yesterday. He didnt drink much more then 6oz either. The one nurse said that it could be because of the antibiotics because thats one of the side effects. The other thing that Alicia's mom and her noticed that whenever he's getting a fever he complains that his hands hurt and are hot. The nurses havent said anything about it....

Now we just wait until the ENT comes to see what the next step is

Update

The ENT Doc said christian looks like he's doing great and the infection is getting smaller. They're keeping him over night again and it looks promising that he will get out tomorrow. Otherwise Christian is doing great. He's acting normal and playing. He still running a fever and he doesnt have much of an appetite. The nurses are watching it but havent said anything so hopefully it will be okay.

Good night!

What is it about us?

Alicia, her mom and I were sitting in Grandview Hospital cafeteria and I said..."Ever since I met you (alicia), I've been to the hospital more times because of you and Christian then I have in my whole life!" And then we all let at an exhausted laugh.

Christian spent the night at Alicia's mom on friday night because we had my uncle's wedding to go to. She said he woke up and he seemed fine and normal. He had a little fever and he complained that his head was hurting. She called me and asked for his insurance information because she wanted to take him to the ER at Grandview Hospital. She said he had a lump the size of a baseball right beneath his right ear.

By the time we got there, he already had a CT scan and an X Ray and they were still in the ER, Jack was with Christian and "Nana". The nurses and doctors were preparing to move him upstairs for an overnight stay in the Pediatrics ward. They have already taken numerous vials of blood and he was already hooked up to an IV to get antibiotics, which he's still on, every 6 hours.

Christian is still at Grandview and he may be there again tonight. He's in his own room and doesnt have to share it with anyone. Alicia has been with him continuously. I spent Saturday night and Sunday with him. Today, the Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT) will be in to evaluate Christian and see what the next step will be. Either they will send him home with antibiotics or keep him overnight and drain the infection. I'm waiting for a call from Alicia to see...

I'll keep everyone posted and Thank you to everyone who stopped by or wished Christian well!
